Each year Makar Sankranti falls on January 14 to mark the yearly transit of the sun. While this day is very important for people around the country as everyone holds a puja at their home, it’s also the first day of the new year, according to the traditional Hindu Solar Calendar.

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan took to his Twitter handle to share some photo creatives of himself on his auspicious day. He further wished netizens and wrote, “T 3783-जिन सभी ने , मुझे व्यक्तिगत, मकर संक्रांति की शुभकामनाएँ भेजी हैं , उन्हें मैं अपना आभार प्रकट करता हूँ । सब को उत्तर न दे पाउँगा । संख्या अधिक है । तो इस माध्यम से आप सब को धनयवाद और मेरी शुभकामनाएँ स्नेह.”

Actress Rakul Preet Singh who has now wrapped up shooting for ‘MayDay’ has also shared heartfelt wishes for her fans with a mesmerizing picture of herself in ethnic wear.

Newlywed Kajal Aggarwal also sent out warm greetings with a gorgeous picture of herself as she celebrates her first Makar Sankranti post tying the knot with hubby Gautam Kitchlu.
